Fastly One-click Service

Fastly is a content delivery network (CDN). To point your domain apex to Fastly, add the A records Fastly shows for your service.

Note

The one-click Fastly service adds an ALIAS record to global.prod.fastly.net. Fastly’s current guide does not use that address and recommends against ALIAS records for the apex, so add Fastly’s records yourself instead.

Get the records from Fastly

Fastly gives your account its own A records for the apex. Fastly’s guide to using Fastly with apex domains explains where to find them, or how to get them from Fastly support.

Add the records in DNSimple

To add Fastly’s records
  1. From the list, click the domain, then click at the top-right.
  2. Click , and select .
  3. Leave blank, enter one of Fastly’s IP addresses in , and click .
  4. Repeat for each IP address Fastly lists.

If you applied the Fastly service earlier, remove the service first, which deletes the ALIAS record it added.
